Day 9 --- Friday, June 25 -- R & R

Day 9 -- We have been pushing so hard that we needed a day or two of rest.  Jackson Hole, WY is the perfect place to chill.

Bar-Be-Que for breakfast???   It is a thing and really good.

                                                            Interesting map at Bubbas.

We took a gondola ride to the top of the Teton Mountain.

Kids ride mountain bikes all over the mountain.

Rock climbing and hiking are popular past times of visitors to Jackson Hole.

Kids having fun on the jumping apparatus.

Trees seen from the gondola ride.

We couldn't help ourselves.  We had to have ice cream from Moo's, Jackson's most famous Ice Cream Parlor, with homemade ice cream.  YUMMY!!

Claudette left her telephone in the airplane (for 3 days).  She got creative and learned how to make telephone calls on her iPad.  She thinks it is a good exercise to go without a phone for a few days.  Could you go without your phone for a day, two days, three days.???

Jackson Hole, WY is charming and quaint -- a perfect vacation spot.  Here are some sights we enjoyed.

                                                                    Wright Brothers

Claudette and Amelia.  Claudette is even wearing her International Forest of Friendship shirt.

Oh, and no pictures but Jackson Hole has lots of spas so we each got a nice massage.  Summer was great.

  1. Good Morning Flying Duo!

Wow, You two have been 'FLYING' along (Pun intended)! Seems to me you are on schedule or even ahead of schedule. At least much faster than what I had anticipated. Great job.

Love the photo's especially the one of you two with the ice creams given my inability to pass up an ice cream shop especially one so classic in decor and with homemade ice cream on top of that. Truly wish I were there.
Next I cracked up at the photo of Claudette in what looks like a closet or bathroom? YES Claudette in my opinion (As reasonably biased as I am) is the 'QUEEN' of improvisation. She doesn't need any particular item, she'll most always find a work around if necessary or important. Ask her to tell you about how to keep a boat afloat on the open ocean 20 miles from the US with a chicken bone! That's a classic for her!
My next favorite is of her next to the 'QUEEN OF AVIATION' AE. I have nearly the identical photo of her from our prior Yellowstone trip several year ago. So this photo rekindles very fond memories. Thank you for sharing.

    Hurrah!
Smooth air and tail winds for the rest of your epic journey!

  2. Wow in my communication with Claudette last night, I've been given instructions to work on Claudette's return flight from (FLL) FORT LAUDERDALE.
If the next few days of your trip go as planned you'll be perfectly on schedule for your 6,000 - 7,000 NAUTICAL MILE journey which is amazing!

    Congratulations!

For all the rest of us watching and reading this, PLEASE keep your fingers crossed, wish them smooth air, send out your positive vibes and prayers for little to NO WEATHER so that they have an uneventful return flight home!

We're ALL rooting for you two! We are very excited about what you are doing and to be able to watch and see the enjoyable results of your work and planning is marvelous.

    GREAT FUN!
    Thanks,
    Dan Miller
    P. S. Claudette I'll get work on researching return flights next! :-)
