Day 1 - Georgia and South Carolina — 5/27/19

You May have noticed that we are a bit behind in our posts.

Day 1 was a fun flying day.  The weather was a little hazy and Claudette and I became a flying team - with me doing most of the flying and Claudette working the radios and navigation.  Our first stop was a quickie stop and go at coastal St. Simmons Island, then we flew direct to Hilton Head, SC for an overnight stay with friends Linda and John Brink.  John and Linda showed us around the beautiful island, from shopping at Harbor Town to a delicious lunch at the French Bakery and dinner at the Oyster Factory to gorgeous sunsets, and finally a deer sighting on Deer Island and a manatee in the marina.  We even found a compass rose.
